Christina and Chloe did a wonderful job of wedding planning for us! The entire staff is so accommodating and amazing as is the food and cakes baked by the chefs! Our wedding was a complete dream and the entire thing flew by so quickly and smoothly! The venue runs a tight ship and gives the bride, groom, and family a no-brainer planning experience. If I could rate them 100 stars I would - absolutely recommend this venue and their services to all brides in the search!

Very disappointing experience. We placed the reservation through our credit card company for our 10th anniversary. Upon checking in, we were informed that we were not entitled to the luxury benefits offered by our credit card due to an error in the booking process.

If I could find a way to give more stars, I would. The Salamander Resort and Spa is incredibly! My best friend and I went there for a long spa weekend and could not have been happier with the services, staff, and grounds. The entire hotel is stunning and every room was more amazing than the last. The spa is marvelous and the massage I received is likely the best I have ever had. We were waited on hand and foot and enjoyed every second of our time there. I highly recommend it for a weekend getaway of luxury!

I have stayed at luxury hotels all over the world and have never had such an infuriating experience. It is ironic to me that correcting the mistake, would have literally cost The Salamander nothing AND would have been greatly appreciated by us. With so many luxury hotels and resorts in VA and DC, this one will not be getting my business ever again.

Furthermore, shortly after making the reservation we called the resort to make dinner reservations and set up a wine tour. We were told no reservations were available for dinner on Saturday evening despite the fact that we were paying guests and we were advised incorrectly on the complimentary transportation to and from local wineries. On the last day of our stay the electric went out for over 30 minutes.

The Salamander provided an experience comparable to few other hotels I've attended. My time here was incredibly relaxing, with service and activities that exceeded my expectations. I was fortunate enough to visit the spa for a hot bamboo massage and had many meals at the Gold Cup bar as well as Harriman's restaurant. Highlights included a soak in my room's actually-big-enough-for-an-adult tub, toasting s'mores at a fire pit, and hours of wine fueled dinner conversations. If you're looking for the Country Gentlemen experience but don't know anyone with a luxury farm of their own, consider the Salamander for a very special vacation.

Wonderful weekend at the Salamander Resort. It is an exceptional resort, excellent food, outstanding customer service and amenities yet it feels like a warm, comfortable home! Did not want to leave.

I then spent the next 2 hours on the phone with the credit card company attempting to sort it out. Our credit card company confirmed there was an error in the booking process and that it was at the discretion of the resort to honor the benefits, which included a $100 resort credit and daily breakfast. The credit card company even called the resort to inform them of the error and requested they honor the benefits as they were included in our rate. I called the front desk manager, Ms. Christine Davis, and explained the situation and she stated she was still unwilling to honor the benefits.
